General Infomation

For anonymous users

Everybody can see your screenshots, so there's no privacy at all.

If your website is NSFW, it may not show up on the public /screenshots/ page (automatic keyword filtering).

For authenticated users

Your screenshot requests will be private if you log in before you submit them.

Private screenshots will not show up on the public screenshots page and factories detail pages, and your URL will not appear on the websites search page. The result is that nobody can see your screenshots except yourself, or somebody who already knows your URL.

For search engines

Browsershots uses a robots.txt file to keep search engines away from the screenshot result pages, so that Browsershots should not appear in search results for your website. Please write to [email protected] if it does anyway.

For webmasters

Browsershots respects the robots.txt standard. You can disallow automatic screenshots of your website by adding a section like this to the robots.txt file on your server:

Information Collected by Browsershots

We receive and store any information you enter on our website or provide to us in any other way. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of many of our special features. Generally, registration is not required to use Browsershots, but in order for you to use some services, such as adding icons to your favourite box, submitting new tags to icons, you must complete a registration form. As part of this registration form, we require select personal information (including your full name and e-mail address). We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. We receive and record certain "traffic data" on their server logs from your browser including your IP address, and the page you requested. We this traffic data to help diagnose problems with its servers, analyze trends and administer the website. We may collect and, on any page, display the total counts that page has been viewed. This includes User Profile pages.

E-mail Communications

We are very concerned about your privacy and will never provide your email address to a third party without your explicit permission. We only send out e-mails with product-related if you accept to receive them, as detailed in your account page. Protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer by logging off once you have finished using a shared computer. Only our staff who need personal information to perform a specific job are granted access to it. All of our staffs are kept up to date on our privacy and security practices.

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time, at its sole discretion. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used.
